Over the course of the following month, I moved from excitement and hope for new beginnings to being completely crushed. I was passed over for a work opportunity that had been promised to me, something that had supposedly been in development for years and would have significantly improved my family’s quality of life. More than the loss itself, it became painfully clear that despite my dedication and passion, my role was considered less important.
I don’t feel it’s necessary to go into the specifics of my job, but it’s important to note that from a very young age, I made a conscious decision not to waste my life doing work I didn’t love. Whatever I commit myself to, I give my whole heart and soul.
The betrayal left me feeling angry, confused, and deeply hurt. Yet that intensity of emotion sparked another vision I couldn’t shake: a veiled figure screaming at the top of their lungs.

Screaming on the Inside is a haunting reflection of what it feels like to be trapped, overlooked, undervalued, and dismissed. It captures the collision between the deepest depths of despair and a storm of rage desperate to escape.
In hindsight, this moment marked the beginning of my worldview shattering. I see now that I was idealizing not only the world itself, but also the intentions and promises of those around me. What should be almost never is. Screaming on the Inside captures the exact moment I first confronted that devastating truth.
