Into the Void
Compared to my other work so far, Into the Void feels like a departure. Stylistically it nods to Vision of Time and Space, but the colors are brighter and the spiral creates a sense of chaotic movement. With Vision of Time and Space people spot the eye first and then the nebula. Into the Void is what, exactly? To me it feels like the opposite.

Nebulae are clouds of dust and gas that form when stars die and later recombine into new stars. They are the phoenixes of the universe, symbols of rebirth and possibility. Our eyes see the world not just for what it is, but for what it might become. Together those symbols suggest optimism; Into the Void gives me dread.
Into the Void came to me at a time when everything I had been working toward felt like it was vanishing. The color was being sucked away.... Where I had once felt so sure of my path, I now saw only nothingness. There was a gaping hole in my heart and in my future.
Looking back, this seems dramatic. But I was spiraling and learning to embrace the depths of my feelings, rather than write them off as frivolous. And honestly, what is more dramatic than a black hole?
